Day 121: Ballet and a picnic

Zoe had ballet first up this morning. I foolishly thought we could do an in and out trip to the post office to collect a package first. The line was long, and the little old lady in front of us was doing some sort of complicated and long drawn out transaction, and then they couldn't find my package. I ended up aborting it so we could try and get to ballet on time.

We were a few minutes late, but it didn't seem to be a big deal, which was good.

It was a pretty grey looking day today, so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and go to the Planetarium again for Science Friday and be indoors. I decided on a whim to pack a picnic lunch as well, and we headed over to Mount Coot-tha.

We ended up having a nice little picnic lunch on the top of Mount Coot-tha. A couple of kookaburras perched in a nearby tree and we amused ourselves trying to make them laugh. I partially succeeded by playing a Youtube video at them.

We went down to the Planetarium after lunch. There was a school excursion there as well, so we couldn't have gone to the show even if we wanted to, but it was the same one we'd seen last time anyway, so it was all good.

After a brief wander around the exhibits at the Planetarium, we had an ice cream and then wandered around the lakes in the Botanic Gardens and then Zoe met a three year old girl who was playing with her mother, and the four of us played for a little bit before it was time to head home.

It ended up being quite a lovely day out, and the weather cooperated. Zoe nearly fell asleep on the way home.
