I think I need to re-categorise my Mondays as not just a day for Debian, but also a day for doing general tinkering.
I got up this morning and managed to knock out a 10km run. I was very happy to be back under an hour again. Fingers crossed my performance continues to improve. I've entered Zoe and I in the Rotary Club of Brisbane Centenary Fun Run on Sunday, so I'll take it easy for the rest of the week between now and then I think.
There's a 1km before the 10km, so Zoe can have a go at running that, and then I'll throw her in the jogging stroller and push her for the 10km. It'll be good practice for the City2South (not that I'll be pushing her for that one).
After I got home from the run and had some breakfast, and popped out to collect a package from the post office. It was the case for my BeagleBone Black that I'd ordered.
I then ducked over to Jaycar to get another bit that I needed to convert Smudge's cat feeder over from running off batteries to using a DC power supply.
Then I popped into the Valley to try and get a pair of Doc Martens, but they were out of my size, so I had to drive over to West End to try another store.
Once I finally got home again, I decided to assemble the BoneBox. It proved mighty annoying removing the backing paper from the acrylic. Thank goodness I had a razor blade.
The crowning accomplishment for the day was definitely converting Smudge's cat feeder over to using a DC plug pack. The thing's been chewing through D-cell batteries at an alarming rate. I'm very happy with the result and that I didn't manage to let the magic blue smoke out of the cat feeder.
It was looking a little bit like it might rain, and I wanted to grab a microSD card from OfficeWorks, so after lunch I drove to OfficeWorks, grabbed the microSD card and drove to Kindergarten to pick up Zoe.
Zoe wanted to play at Megan's house after Kindergarten, so we went back there for a little bit, and then we headed home so I could start dinner.
I managed to overcook the stir fry veggies in the Thermomix because I was pretty much making it up as I went along, and they all reduced down to mush, but Zoe didn't mind as long as there were hokkien noodles involved, so I didn't make a big deal about it and neither did she.
She wanted to sleep in the top bunk, but chickened out again when it came to lights out. Maybe tomorrow night.
I'm now trying to convince Debian to install on my BeagleBone Black.
